Human Rights Organization in Afrin: Local sources reported that the logging processes are still continuing with the approaching of winter in the Afrin region, in addition to that, the armed militia men are still cutting down trees day and night and making them firewood after they stole and plundered their olive fruits, in addition to cutting down forest trees, oaks and plains in front of the sight and hearing of the Turkish occupation forces in spite of the protests by the people in front of the Turkish military headquarters during the past days, and we have indicated this twice without the responsible and concerned authorities in ordering their duties and investigating these crimes.
First – The Military Police in Jenderes town, on Tuesday 01/12/2020, set up a checkpoint on the road leading to the village of Khalta and prevented the indigenous Kurds from pruning their olive trees and transporting their firewood to homes, and threatening to seize every vehicles that transporting firewood (agricultural tractor – Truck – motorcycle), while the armed militia members and settlers carry firewood after cutting down the fruit and forest trees from the Qaziqli Mountains, Sheikh Muhammad and the Battal forest by all available possible means to them in front of the civil and military police elements without accountability or accountability for their source, and a week ago we saw a queue a (convoy) of trucks transporting waste from scavenging olive trees and firewood to the city of Idlib, in addition to transporting firewood into Turkish territory for trade and charcoal processing.
Second – The so-called Salil al-Khalidi, the leader of the so-called Faylaq al Sham, who controls the town of Medan Akbas in Rajo town, has seized agricultural lands to grow wheat belonging to the following Kurdish citizens:
1 – Muhammad Qadir “The land of çêta”, his field is on the main road leading to the town of Medan Akbas. 2 – Muhammad Heeno, his field is near the Black River. 3- Sharif Suleiman Hassan, his field is near the Black River
Third – The members of the Faylaq al Sham militia, led by Salil al-Khalidi and his collaborator Major Hisham, who control the town of Medan Akbas in the Rajo town, and Ahrar al-Sharqiya militia, who control the town center, cut down more than 700 forest trees (pine and oak trees) located on the road to Khirabe Sulk – Qara Baba, in addition to 500 perennial oak trees, some of which are estimated to be around 500-600 years old. One of these trees is located in the field of the citizen Awni Othman Mihik, or what was previously known as the field of the citizen “Nazhmi Aishy” located near a well water of the government. Note that the so-called the lame (Kut) son of Nazhmi Osi Mihke was accompanied by militia members while they were cutting them as an eyewitness with some of the supporters.
It is worth mentioning that since the invasion of the Turkish occupation army and the armed factions and groups the Afrin region, kidnappings campaigns against Kurdish civilians continue with false pretexts, in addition to cutting down olive and forests trees for selling firewood without legal and moral deterrence.
