Afrin… Kidnapping, assault, royalties, bulldozing, resettlement and logging are the results of Hariri’s visit to the Afrin region

Dec 13 2020

The Human Rights Organization in Afrin, activists on Saturday December 12, 2020, released the results of the visit of Nasr al-Hariri, head of the Syrian Coalition and its members, to the Afrin region in Syrian Kurdistan.

The Organization said: Since Nasr Al-Hariri was a guest at the local council of Afrin on October 29, 2020, in his capacity as head of the Syrian Coalition, he held a meeting that included the vice president of the local council and the so-called “restitution of rights and grievances” committee and the presence of a number of village leaders and crowning his visit to the village of Basofan by taking several pictures and video clips after forcing its indigenous people to receive him and sit with him under the gaze of the cameras with the power of the Turkish occupation forces, and to give him a promise to improve conditions and build a mosque and school in the east of the village, but after the visit was completed, things turned upside down, from bad to worse, the indigenous Kurds’ passage of very dire conditions.

Activists said as we indicated on 01/10/2020 that the formation of the so-called “Committee for Restitution of Rights and Grievances” by the leaders of armed militias is nothing but “Much ado about nothing”, and what made matters worse when the Syrian National Coalition loyal to the Turkish occupation government put its hand in the committee as it is the sponsor and supervisor of its work and thus holds it fully responsible for its inhuman decisions, practices, and violations.

The Organization stated: The aim of that visit is to cover up their previous crimes and deny them what was stated in the report of the International Commission of Inquiry submitted to the Human Rights Council on 14/09/2020

The Organization published a number of cases of theft, kidnapping, assault, and bombings after Nasr Hariri’s visit to the Afrin region (approximately 43 days) and what followed the visit of Coalition members, as follows:
