The Human Rights Organization in Afrin: Activists reported that kidnappings of Kurdish citizens continue in the Afrin region on false charges and pretexts for the purpose of material extortion and ransom collection by all armed militias without exception, in addition to the military and civilian police and Turkish intelligence.
Activists added that, on Tuesday, 01/19/2021, the Military Police on Tuesday, 19/01/2021, kidnapped the citizen Saeed Bahri Sheikh Saydi, from the village of Shekhoutka of Mabata town, while he was passing through the checkpoint of Amara village on charges of dealing with the previous administration of the PYD and taking him to the military headquarters for the purpose of material extortion and collecting ransom in exchange for his release.
They also said that the militia members of Al-Mu’tasim Billah who are controlling the village of Za’re of Bulbul town on Wednesday, 13/01/2021, kidnapped two brothers from the people of the village of Cholaqa village of Mabata town, and they are:
1- Khabat Abdo Hannan
2- Munzer Abdo Hannan
While they were filming nature in general, and were walking in the olive field, including the appearance of one of the military headquarters, and after searching the cell phone, some old pictures dating back to the era of the previous administration of the PYD were found, and they were taken to the security headquarters in the city of Izaz.
