Two casualties in a mine explosion in Kalote village

The Human Rights Organization in Afrin: A landmine, on Friday, April 16, 2021, exploded in a village in the Sherawa area in the Kurdish region of Afrin resulting in two injuries and material losses.

The Human Rights Organization in Afrin obtained information from its sources that two civilians were injured in Kalote village of the Sherwa area of the Afrin region.

The village of Kalote is one of the twelve villages of the Afrin region, which is currently under the administration of the PYD, while the other villages, towns, and the city center are under the control of Turkey and the armed factions.

The sources said: Both the child Ramadan Jamil Allawi, who is 13 years old, and his uncle Ramadan Muhammad Allawi, who is 30 years old, were injured as a result of a mine explosion in the vicinity of Kalote village, while they were grazing their sheep.

Sources reported the Human Rights Organization in Afrin saying: A landmine planted between rocks exploded in the vicinity of “Mazen” village of Sherawa area, on Sunday noon 11/04/2021, while the children of one family (Hussein) from the people of the village were heading to play, which led to the loss of two children of their lives and injury. Two more of them were badly injured.

The martyrs and the wounded are all of:
1 Ibrahim Hussein, 12 years old “lost his life”
2 – Diyar Hamo Hussein, 11 years old, “lost his life.”
3- Hussein Ibrahim Hussein, 9 years old, “wounded”
4- Nisreen Muhammad Hussein, 12 years old, “injured.”
