The Human Rights Organization in Afrin: The humanitarian situation has become catastrophic in the Afrin region, since the Turkish occupation forces, accompanied by the pro-Turkish armed militias took control, whether at the health or food level, by virtue of those in charge of managing the two sectors who do not have the scientific competence that entitles them to manage it, most of their testimonies are forged, and if any, they constitute the minimum level required, in addition to the spread of corruption and favoritism, starting with the Health Directorate and its centers of hospitals and pharmacies, which are characterized by racial discrimination and raising a chauvinistic view towards the indigenous Kurdish population and pressure on them in order to deport and obliged to fulfill impossible conditions while providing their services, in exchange for the facilities provided in relation to the settlers.
The associations and health centers run by the settlers have Turkish support and special directives, and they are urged to provide their services to the people of their areas, not the indigenous Kurds. As for pharmacies in the city, they are spread day after day, just like the mushrooms, owned by limited people and loyal to the leaders of the armed militias who control their locations, and some of them own more than five pharmacies in the city alone, and those in charge of managing them are not available that meet the required conditions, most of them hold forged certificates and their employees hold a preparatory or high school, and they speak little English language, and they may have previously worked as assistant pharmacists or ordinary workers in pharmacies for the purpose of providing the necessary services, in addition to not adhering to standard prices, and the most important thing of all is the sale of expired medicines in most pharmacies at competitive prices equal to the popular prices in Turkey, what applies to the health side applies to the food side, by virtue of stealing the property of Kurdish citizens and seizing their shops and crops, so that the Kurdish citizen suffers from poverty and destitution and his inability to secure a livelihood, as the Turkish occupation government has systematically planned it and implemented it from through the leaders and members of the armed militias “Free Syrian National Army”, and work to deprive the indigenous Kurdish population of food relief aid that arrives periodically from international relief organizations and to shorten its distribution to settlers who sell the surplus to shops and sometimes to the Kurds at lower prices than the markets and shops, as well as depriving widows and handicapped Kurds those who with special needs despite the presentation of their identity papers, from their allocations due to the spread of corruption and favoritism in the administration and the seizure of armed elements by force of arms.
Thus, for the aforementioned reasons, we join the indigenous Kurds in appealing to international relief organizations to run health centers and supervise the work of existing organizations and support them with the necessary medicines especially with regard to chronic diseases (asthma – heart) and the necessary foodstuffs and monitor their work, and in the event that the situation remains as it is today, we are facing a humanitarian catastrophe that has no consequences. The responsibility of the Turkish occupation government, the Syrian Interim Government, the officials of these centers and associations, and the leaders of the armed militias, the Free Syrian National Army, bear direct responsibility.
