Al-Ghouta to sell all items “food stuff, antibiotics, cosmetics, feed”

The Human rights organization in Afrin: For the third time this month, we touch on one of the important sectors – the health sector – related to the lives of the citizens living (indigenous Kurdish residents – settlers) in Afrin city in terms of medical centers, hospitals, laboratories and pharmacies scattered randomly, which are similar to shops selling foodstuffs and Milk, cheese, and cosmetics, but it is getting worse day by day and foreshadows a humanitarian catastrophe due to the rampant corruption in the Health Directorate and the local council of Afrin city.

For this reason, the citizens living in Afrin city appeal to the World Health Organization and invite them to intervene directly to monitor and supervise the health sector and to urge the Ministry of Health in the Syrian Interim Government to carry out its duties in protecting citizens from shops and dealers of medicine boxes and violations of selling expired medicines and non-compliance with prices (the price of the medicine box varies from one pharmacy to another), by taking the necessary legal measures, including financial penalties or fines, and confiscation of seizures, although the Health Directorate destroyed two trucks two weeks ago of the medicines stored in the warehouse, but some commercial pharmacists still kept a large portion of the spoiled medicines instead of treating, it increases sensitivity to faces, especially children.

The development of the medical sector is carried out through the tasks it provides for the purpose of promoting the health of citizens, and this role can only be performed through drug administration and control, and its compliance with applicable international laws and standards, and the prominent role lies in the inspections of all public and private pharmacies, combating fraud and punishing all those who practice the profession of pharmacy without a certificate by virtue of most pharmacists having forged certificates worth 50 US dollars, and monitoring drug stores and factories in cooperation with the concerned authorities to achieve drug security and set prices wholesale and retail for patients.
