Afrin… Tension still prevails in the town of Mabata

 

Dec 21 2020 Activists ahuman rights organization working to document violations in the Kurdish region of Afrin reported on its main page of Facebook, on Saturday, 20.12.2020, that the kidnapping campaign took place in the town of Mabata on Saturday and Sunday, 19 – 20/12/2020 dozens of Kurdish citizens beat and tortured by the al-Jabha al-Shamiya militiamen after accusing them of carrying out the bombing operation in the car of the leader of the al-Jabha al-Shamiya militia called Abu Muhammad al-Hazwani on Friday evening on 18/12/2020. This was accompanied by the arrival of several armed groups of the al-Jabha al-Shamiya militia from each of the Afrin city and the town of Mareh to support the creation of the security cordon around the town and the closure of the roads leading to the town center. The organization activities said through the investigations conducted with more than thirty civilians and falsely accusing them at the security headquarters, beating and torturing them, it became clear after examining and reviewing the surveillance cameras that the Arab settlers living in the tents at the threshing floor were the ones who carried out the bombing and attached the explosive device to the car of commander Abu Muhammad Al-Hazwani for reasons have not known yet. Meanwhile, the armed elements of the aforementioned faction raided those tents and some of the houses that were seized from the settlers and arrested more than ten of them and took them to the security headquarters for investigation, while most of the Kurdish citizens were released and a very limited number may be kept on other charges not related to the bombing, and tension still prevails in the town due to the strict security cordon.
