The Human Rights Organization in Afrin: Activists said that the armed factions in Afrin region in Syrian Kurdistan kidnapped a number of young Kurds, with the aim of collecting ransom from their families, while one of them was subjected to torture due to the presence of the Kurdish flag in his mobile .

Activists reported: On Monday, 08/02/2021, the Samarkand militiamen who control the village of Kafr Safra in Jenderes town kidnapped a number of the village’s youth for the purpose of material extortion and ransom collection, accusing them as usual of dealing with the previous administration and compulsory service and taking them to the security headquarters. The organization published their following names:

2- Ahmed Hassan Mohamed


3- Murad Seydo Khalo

4- Abdul Rahman Muhammad Muhammad


5- Ali Qadir Hajji
They explained: The aforementioned people were previously kidnapped several times, and each time they are forced to pay the ransom in exchange for their release. As it became known that the militia leader accuses some of the villagers of false charges whenever he needs money.

they continued: And this time they were also released on Thursday, 11/02/2021, after being forced to pay a ransom of 3800 Turkish liras for each person, but the young Hassan Hassan Shero was beaten and tortured because of the presence of a picture of the Kurdistan flag in his cell phone previously, his opposition to militia forces cutting down his grandfather’s olive trees.

Activists stated: The civil police and militia members of Malak Shah (formerly Sultan Murad) who control the village of Qurtqulaqe Saghir of Shara town, on Wednesday, February 10, 2021, kidnapped citizen Aslan Mustafa Horo, 55 years old, from the village, after the raid and search to spread terror and fear, and to confiscate cell phones, for the purpose of material extortion, collecting ransoms, and accusing him of false and unfounded arguments, and then taking him to the town center without knowing his fate so far.

Activists confirmed: The Turkish government, accompanied by the armed militias loyal to it, is to tighten the screws on the indigenous Kurdish population in the Afrin region in order to displace those who remain and prevent the return of those who live in the Shahba area in coordination with the Syrian regime and the auxiliary forces controlling the area.
