The Human Rights Organization in Afrin: Reliable Sources reported that investigations are still underway regarding the bombing that took place on last Tuesday in the Basouta town of the city center of Afrin.
They said that, each Kurdish citizen Nawzad Akram Tobal, 41, and Haifa Sharif Qassem, 21, at dawn at 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday 23/02/2021, lost their lives as a result of an explosive device exploding in the house of citizen Haifa resulted in severe damage to the contents of the house, and after the Turkish forces arrived, accompanied by al-Hamzat militia members who are controlling the village, two bombs were also discovered.
The same sources added that they dismantled one of them and transported it to Afrin city, while they detonated the second remotely due to its readiness to explode. After that, they arrested all family members and their relatives to conduct the preliminary necessary investigations to find out the details of the accident and the reason for the presence of explosive devices in their home, as well as seize the house of citizen Nawzad and seize its entire contents of household furniture and electrical appliances and confiscate the livestock belonging to him, while the two bodies are transferred to Afrin city by the forensic doctors.
The sources concluded that the late Nawzad Akram Tobal was kidnapped twice in the past, the first on 23/08/2018 by the al-Hamzat militia members who control the village and the second accompanied by his cousin, the child Evan Eido Qaso, on 17/09/2018 by an unidentified armed group who wear military police uniforms, carrying an important order on the road to the village of Ghazawiya, and a sum of 300,000 Syrian pounds was taken as a deposit for a field of pomegranates rented by his family. During that time, they severely beat the child Evan, sent him to the village, and took Nawzad to an unknown destination without knowing his fate, and when the parents asked about him at the military police in Afrin city, they denied that they had this name, in the evening they received a phone call from an unknown person, demanding his family paid a ransom of $ 16,000 in exchange for his release.
