The deprivation of rights in light of the formation of the so-called committee “Restitution of Rights and Grievances”

The Human Rights Organization in Afrin: According our sources that the behavior and practices of armed militia members and their leaders have not changed despite the promises that they make from time to time to abide by the committee’s decisions, the so-called “Restitution of Rights and Grievances.”

A while ago, on 16/12/2020, we discussed the formation of several workshops by armed and settler elements affiliated with the leaders of the following armed militias (Sultan Murad – Men of War – Faylaq Al Sham – Al Nukhba) of the Syrian Interim Government and the Syrian National Coalition, which controls the village Midanky – Shara town, it is fully equipped with the necessary tools and devices for the detection of antiquities in several sites. These workshops later turned also into clearing olive fields and cutting trees in order to obtain firewood and sell them in the cities of Afrin, Izaz and Idlib. Similar to these workshops, a mini-workshop was formed from the leaders of the aforementioned militias (Obadiah Abu Ali – Abu Subhi – Abu al-Nour – Tariq Jouriya Abu Ammar – Mahmoud Sifairi) and some members of the economic office of Sultan Murad’s militia, with the aim of seizing the olive fields and appointing agents on their behalf in managing and distributing property among themselves, whose ownership belongs to the following Kurdish citizens:
